Our Story
Founded in 2023 by Dr. Christensen Sicat Hsu, SéSé KUTUR is an up-and-rising brand specializing in culturally inspired White Coats
for Healthcare Professionals
SéSé means "to take care of" in her native Filipino dialect Kapampangan. KUTUR means "Couture" in Tagalog.
The founder's vision started back in 2006 when Dr. Christensen Sicat Hsu started her oral & maxillofacial surgery program wearing a White Coat tailored for men. At the time, there were limited options for female healthcare professionals. The generic White Coat for doctors was boxy with large pockets, a regular coat lapel, and no lining. Dr. Hsu found herself replacing her White Coat every year until she finally decided to design a White Coat that would fit her physique and style. She called it the ADAI Coat and made it culturally inspiring to foster individuality and diversity in the healthcare setting. The mandarin collar is a stand-up collar found on traditional Chinese garments such as the cheongsam (qipao). The side openings allow a dynamic flow of the coat as you walk and is similar to that seen in traditional Ao Dai dresses in Vietnam. Both cultural elements give the ADAI Coat an elegant and distinctive look that is unique and different from the traditional White Coat.
Why wear the White Coat?
It is worn out of necessity as a distinction of expertise and knowledge.
It symbolizes cleanliness and purity, reflecting the importance of hygiene in healthcare settings. The garment is worn with pride by all who've earned their doctorate in the healthcare profession.
The ADAI Coat is an original design by Dr. Christensen Sicat Hsu who embodies grace, elegance, and professionalism.
Our Design Process

Hsu works closely with designer experts in the fashion and clothing manufacturing industry to produce high quality products. With a team of creative and talented individuals, her unique and culturally inspired designs have become a reality

SéSé KUTUR uses eco-friendly materials and production methods to minimize our impact on the environment. Production is limited in numbers to ensure the supply is matched with demand. The White Coats of SéSé KUTUR are specifically designed to promote cultural diversity and inclusivity in the healthcare settings. Docere is the Latin word "to teach" and
is the origin of the English word "doctor."

Founder Dr. C.S. Hsu not only designs the White Coats of
SéSé KUTUR, but she also creates coats that are works of art. This is her colorful and creative side. She believes in simple and elegant garments that showcase the artistry in the textiles through its elegant patterns. The Luxury Coats of the Kúlé Kollection are unique and vibrant in colors. Each luxury coat made is client-specific that is tailored to meet their style, body figure, and favorite colors.
Kúlé refers to the Tagalog word "kulay" which means color.
